Scottsdale Detox Center: Response to COVID-19
We remain center of compassionate care and clinical excellence!

Ensuring the safety and security of our clients is of the utmost importance to the Scottsdale Detox Center team. Given the emergence of the worldwide COVID-19 Coronavirus, Scottsdale Detox wants to assure our patients, their families and friends, visitors, referents and our staff that the safety and health of our community is our highest priority. We understand the importance of education, preventative measures, and avoidance of unnecessary anxiety.

During treatment for addiction, if a patient experiences a physical ailment or co-occurring disorder that is beyond our expertise, we transport them to a higher level of care and COVID-19 (C
oronavirus) will be handled the same.

Scottsdale Detox has taken proper precautions with the following steps:

  • Mandatory screening for anyone entering the facility, including employees.
  • Staff are being screened for the virus twice daily.
  • Screening all persons before entering the facility for:
    • Personal travel history and potential exposure to areas of concern.
    • Potential contact with someone who has traveled to these areas of concern.
    • Any direct contact by the patient with persons diagnosed with COVD-19.
    • Symptoms, such as fever or cough.
  • Stopping all visitation from family or visitors outside of staff members.
    • Patients are always allowed to bring phones and laptops to our facility.  Therefore, they can video chat and stay in touch with family members.
  • Requiring any staff members who are experiencing symptoms, have any contact with a COVID-19 patient or have travel history in the areas of concern to stay self-quarantined for 14 days.
  • Following state and CDC recommendations regarding who should be tested and when an individual should be sent to the hospital.
  • All groups will be remote to practice social distancing – See ZOOM Instructions
    attached.
  • Staff are disinfecting/sanitizing every 6 hours.
  • All food delivered is a no contact drop off and food items are removed from original packaging to protect you.
  • Groceries are sanitized.
  • Implemented hand hygiene protocols in accordance with guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Maintaining the highest level of infection control and sanitization.
  • We pride ourselves on working closely with the Joint Commission and other regulating bodies so that our facilities are run on the highest of standards which include infectious disease protocols, sanitation standards and regular employee training. We will continue to run our facility based on these strict standards of operation.
  • All non-essential staff are working from home.
Monitoring all Coronavirus developments, news and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Arizona Department of Public Health, Arizona Department of Health Services, World Health Organization and the Joint Commission to ensure that Scottsdale Detox follows current best-practices to keep our patients and staff healthy and safe.

What you need to do during your stay:

  • Practice social distancing. Please stay 6 feet away from other patients.
  • Wash your hands often (before and after eating, using the restroom, after walking around the unit, after smoking).
  • If you feel like you are getting flu like symptoms – TELL YOUR NURSE Immediately.
  • Do not touch your face or eyes.
  • Cough into your elbow – never your hands.

This is a rapidly evolving situation, so we will continue to monitor updates and respond accordingly. Scottsdale Detox remains a center of compassionate care and clinical excellence, dedicated to the hope and healing of our residents and their families. Addiction is a disease that does not wait or stop and therefore we will continue to provide life-saving treatment to those in need, responsibly and with sensitivity to the developing current events. Thank you for trusting us with your loved ones as they work hard to overcome addiction.

If you have any questions about the precautions we are taking, please reach out by phone or email.
