What happens at medical detox centers?

When you arrive at the medical detox facility, the medical staff will take your history and work with you on the best medical detox plan for you. Your medical detox plan could change, depending on how you respond to the treatments. Your team will ensure good hydration and proper levels of vitamins and minerals for your body as you progress through the detox process. You can be confident that the clinical staff will work 24/7 to keep you safe as well as comfortable.

Why do I need to detox?

Withdrawal symptoms may vary from mild to moderate and sometimes to life-threatening. They can include headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia, restlessness, lack of concentration, sweating, palpitations, racing heart, difficulty breathing, tremor, vomiting, and tightness in the chest. The most dangerous of the symptoms include heart attack, stroke, hallucinations, grand mal seizures, and delirium tremens.

Withdrawal need not worry you if you choose a medical detox; the physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, behavioral health technicians, therapists, and counselors attending to you will be on hand to prescribe necessary measures and treatments to alleviate symptoms and make you comfortable. Because of this, you will need to stay at the facility during the medical detox process.

About Detoxing: Our Treatments

Will I be in pain or discomfort?

You may feel some discomfort during the process depending on what you are detoxing from, the length of time you have been using the substances and any health issues you may have, however we will treat all of your symptoms and keep you as comfortable as possible during the entire process as we are a full medical detox facility.

Patient comfort is paramount. Our medical protocols are designed to keep patients safe and comfortable. All protocols were designed by our medical director who has over 20 years experience in the detox field. Our protocols, coupled with our high end facility provides an oasis where patients can heal and recovery in comfort.

How long will the detox take?

A typical detox can range from 3 to 7 days yet some substances such as Methadone will require a longer time to safely taper.

While most centers estimate that the detox process will take 3-7 days, the length of time depends on several factors:

  • Your unique DNA and metabolism
  • The type of drug for which you seek detoxification
  • The amount of the drug or alcohol you used, over what period of time
  • Your age
  • Your overall health status
  • Your state of hydration
  • Your state of mineral and vitamin deficiency
  • If you are using more than one substance
What can I expect (can I smoke, what type of other patients will I be placed with, will I be treated with dignity and respect)?

All of our patients are treated as family with care, compassion and respect as this can be a challenging time for many.

We treat all patients 18 years and older as addiction or dependence does not discriminate.

We have a comfortable outside area for our smoking or vape patients and often time patients use the area to simply enjoy the beautiful weather and socialize.

Will my surroundings be clean and comfortable?

All of our rooms are very clean, private and have their own restrooms for personal comfort. In addition, our linens and towels are upscale, high quality and we also provide luxury robes.

Can I keep my phone and work? How disruptive will detox be to my normal life. What amenities do you offer? Do you allow visitation?

We allow you to keep your cell phones, computes, iPads….anything that you may need to continue working if necessary or simply to stay in touch with your support system and loved ones while you are in our care.

We also have visitation which we encourage so you have that additional continued comfort that can provide more ease through the entire process.

We offer two very upscale private suites for the executives who need to continue working while in our care and prefer that over our other private accommodations.

Additionally, we have a craft/computer room for patients to utilize and a group room where patients have the opportunity to go to group or use the room to relax.

Visiting Hours are Daily from 4-6pm

How will I be detoxed and will you provide medication to reduce discomfort or help me sleep?

We are a full medical detox facility. Our job is to keep our patients safe and comfortable during the process.  We address all patient needs and potential side effects they may experience including sleep disturbances, anxiety, nausea, aches etc.

Are any of our staff in recovery?

Many of our highly trained staff members are in recovery so they understand what the patients are going through and are very empathetic.

Do I have to share a room?

All of our patient rooms and restrooms are private and we also offer two executive suites which include recliners, larger beds, a full length desk/work area and a personal mini refrigerator.

Do you have a blackout period or can I have visitors?

We do not have any completed blackout periods for our patients, we actually encourage healthy outside support from family and friends who will be a positive influence and support the patients to continue moving forward in their recovery once the successful detox has been completed.

Will you bill my insurance? What is the cost?

We accept most insurance and have private pay rates that are competitive.

Struggling with addiction is hard enough, and trying to do it alone is practically impossible. Misuse of drugs or alcohol hides the underlying causes of your addiction and these will continue to disrupt your life until they are uncovered and addressed.

If you are reading this right now and need to change things in your life, please call us now. We understand how you feel and the struggle to pick up the phone. Our staff recognizes that people who try to quit by themselves oftentimes get frustrated and feel helpless when they can’t. You can, and we can help.
